I must have this. :D
Musn't we all.
Glad to see that you're still alive, I was hooked into your stuff somewhere around 08/09 ;)
Thanks for sticking with me for that long! <3
This is like 50times better than your previous exercise. Keep it up lol-
Thanks man, I'll try.
so conalistic.
I suppose. I'm going to do more of these types of tracks.
Lets massacre the 2014 together ;D
Yes. Let us take it by the reins and take over!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.
I give you five stars, because this makes my own first attempts look less bad than they actualy are.
I'll even scout ya.
When it comes to newgrounds, this is probably the best piece that I've heard this year and even thought the year is not entirely over, I'm pretty damn sure that nothing is going to best it. Unless it's something else made by you. ;) This is basicaly all that soft and emotional stuff I dig in the big budget soundtracks from movies and games. Thousands of thumbs up for this extraordinary thingie, because its not only awesome but also very inspirational.
I'm not sure if this was your intention, but it makes me think about how people in the medieval times would celebrate while listening to this. It also reminds me of Corvus Corax which is a band responsible for various "medieval" themes. I don't realy know how to properly adress this genre.
I liked this whole thing so much that I actualy felt kind of hurt when there weren't certain "finishers" to the individual sections in a form of more percussion. But maybe that's just me not comprehending the mind behind the composition.
In the end its a very very wonderful piece of work and I'm realy glad that I've found this kind of music, because even tho I might be burried in the Electronic music I do have a soft spot for this.
I think, more than it being my intention, this was the intention of the hymn -- Gaudete is a medieval Christmas gathering song. And a lot of medieval hymns which doubled as gathering songs work well with percussion -- I listed In Dulce Jubilo and Ave Maria de Montserrat as examples, and I hope to cover those two someday. Being Catholic and a drummer, it raises two more chords in me because one, I celebrate out of faith, and two, the beat of the drum delights me very much. Case in point as to why Gaudete is one of my favourite Christmas carols of all time.
I do feel your pain about the percussions -- I couldn't find my ankle bells (yes, I've got some), and I decided to go it with simply the bodhrán and the voice. In an actual setting you could imagine people taking their tambourines and dancing, and yes, I feel you right there. I regret not having been able to do this.
Still, glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for listening <3
I did upload it during christmas didn't I? :D
what? Did you have that unable to continue writing bug? Cuz I don't get it. :/
