Help me get my headphones back :)

Posted by DESHIEL - April 3rd, 2016

Fragile Sound by Deshiel

I put up this track in hopes to gather enought money for new studio heapdhones, which I need to continue in music making. I cannot afford any on my own and I currently own none. That is pretty frustrating considering that I am addicted and used to making atleast one track per month.

So with that. I came to ask if anyone would like to support my goal to get new headphones back. That is why I created this music track. To specificaly have something to give you back for your kindness.

To those who already supported me. Thanks a lot. I will remember that you were there for me when I needed it.

Perhaps a future fun NG contest just for you? :)

Comments

Wow, i listened to the track...
(bad comment incoming (sorry, but lately everyone gets it from me))

Personally, i like the idea of the song, but i don't know what kind of a music producer you are, so i'm gonna point this out from my current perspective...

The mixing is not bad, although the "bassline" (the saw) sound too thin (it's kinda irritating). Also if you planned to do an "action" tune, make it a bit faster, and add more melody to it. The drumloop is practically the same during the most of the song (kick-hat-snare-hat-repeat and kick-kick-repeat)
The lead is good, just the melody could be a lot better. The piano part is nice, i like that part (it fits the theme of the song).

For me to understand a musician, i need to listen to some song of his/hers, it would really help to find out what DAW is the musician using. (i use FL studio 12, not hard to work with, and has everything).

Also, i'm bored now, and i'm searching trough SKIO music for some nice contests, but i can't find anything, so i'm happy about the contest.

I am glad that it sounds decent considering that I did it without my headphones.
Couldn't risk going deeper with it, would lose control over the sound quality without my HP.

I'm not using headphones much when making music... I use my speakers!
(considering that i make house, EDM and dubstep songs)

Making music without specific headphones is generaly considered as not a very good idea. For a good reason. I only consider myself lortunate that my fuck ups were so limited.

I do not endorse it. Proper music should be optimised for every sound system. Underestimating this will result in higher chance of your music not being so sexy on someone's system rather than being okay. It all depends on one individual's rig.

Trump or Skank?
Definitely pick Skank.
Good work sir!

I distinctly remember you refusing gear as a gift when we offered cus proud descendant of knights, look at you now ; panhandling like one of the cool kids :3

I refused free headphones this morning.

But I opened myself to smaller contributions via this bandcamp track to see how it would work.

Several months have passed since our last discussion, several months without my headphones :/
Job position opened up in a nearby factory. Shit pay, 12hours worktime per day. But I am going to go for it.

Ha, three four shifts, that shit will break you sooner rather then later. If i were you i'd seriously consider cleaning work, shifts are usually not qutie that killer and the pay varies from equally miserable to slightly better considering the effort.

Well, unless you're a large gentleman with adhd who perks up from being spent, they love factory hell. I know this for a fact cus i've had co-workers like that.

So you doing assembly line or pallets? Loading stuff and arranging stacks at least has you moving around a bit, whereas the assembly line is just standing around while slowly going nuts doing repetitive motions.

@anarkat @alicemako @lich @cannonxiii

Job interview failed today. Company told me that I am too smart for the manual labor I signed for and they promised to call me if something else opens up.

Gee who would say that going to school would deny me job.

Being overqualified can be a real problem yes, you can be too expensive for a position or it can be beneath you in the sense that they're genuinely not allowed to hire you for a given job.

Before resorting to flipping burgers or any other paper hat profession for that matter, you used to have a desk job, call centres/help desk are pretty much the go to job for 20 somethings these days.

Still nothing to write home about but they certainly pay better then a mcjob and pretty much anything beats the assembly line.

In my case. They didn't want to waste thier money and resources into "specialising" for the job when they were afraid that I would run away to seek something better.

ayy m8, you ready to lay down some sik lines for us ;)

Ofcourse ;)
